Solar Macedonia, in collaboration with EPICENTAR International and with support from the USAID Project for Business Ecosystem Development, has prepared four policy position papers to improve the climate in the solar sector. They are:
- Proposal to change the current model of replacing part of the cost of purchased and installed solar thermal collector systems in households
- Proposal of initiatives for revision and improvement of conditions for import on raw materials and production equipment for solar thermal collector systems and elements
- Proposal for initiatives to create favorable conditions for installation on photovoltaic systems by households
- Proposal for initiatives to improve the principles for the supply of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from the sector, with a view to better organizing joint activities and forming a joint supply chain for the sector
With this activity, a request was made for changes in the way of subsidizing the installed thermal solar systems.
In order to maximize the use of solar energy in the country, Solar Macedonia is actively working to educate the workforce and to provide good market conditions for companies in the sector. Members of Solar Macedonia should be the advocate party for the respective promotion of solar energy systems.
The entire process of lobbying and representing the solar sector members was supported by the USAID Project for Business Ecosystem Development, while EPICENTAR International as a consulting company used research, surveys and questioners also participated in the preparation of the policy position papers.
